All my work is born from an awareness of myself and my ancestry. It evokes a transfiguration of shapes, volumes and images which are both contemporary and of simple interpretation. My Land, Sardinia, is an endless source of inspiration. It’s from here that everything is born, permeates, solidifies and transforms. The emotional paintings are born as an expression of my surroundings. I chose to paint using a combination of techniques, of materials that bond together, marry, yet sometimes collide, depending on the emotions that I’ve experienced and that I want to convey to the observer. As I have a natural tendency to work with textiles, I re-use cuttings and residues giving strength to the acrylic paint and reinforcing its natural powerful effects whilst generating intimate and visual emotions. The clusters are my carnivals, my past celebrations.. my thoughts.
Textile necklaces
My textile necklaces are material jewels that arise from the union of my being an artist with my being an artisan. Each piece is unique and unrepeatable. Colors and materials of various kinds, including ceramic eggs, glass beads and Sardinian buttons, respectively symbols of fertility and the woman's breasts, combine and raise the female figure at the center of this universe. Lulled and supported by yarns of various kinds that intertwine and bind together in a union that represents the cycle of life, with its joys and sorrows.
